Film & Broadcast Research Guide: Books and DVDs

Search for Books at Tribeca Flashpoint College and Other Libraries

Info Commons catalog: Search for books, DVDs, magazines, games, etc.

Search for materials beyond the Info Commons

  • Chicago Public Library catalog: The CPL has a vast collection of materials for borrowing or browsing. The Harold Washington branch is highly recommended.

  • Worldcat:  WorldCat is an online index/database that allows you to search for books, videos, music, and articles available at libraries around the world. Worldcat is great because it allows you to find local libraries where items are available--so you do not have to search each library's individual catalog.
    • INTERLIBRARY LOAN: We can request books and DVDs for you from other libraries. Note: Delivery of materials can take up to a week.

LOCAL ACADEMIC LIBRARIES

When interlibrary loan is not an option, many academic libraries are open to the public at certain hours. Although you will not be able to borrow books or use their databases, you can browse and read books while in those libraries. Calling ahead of time to ask about public hours is recommended
